Service Description

Intikana is a DigiDesign certified Pro Tools Audio Software Technician and received his Bachelors Degree in Music Industry at SUNY Oneonta with a minor in Audio Arts Production. He has mixed many of his own projects including: "Master Cleanse EP" (2010) "Penumbra" (2008) "Corpus Callosum" (2006) "The Movement Mixtape" (2005) Intikana has also mixed songs and projects for other artists such as Bamboo MC ("Woodgrain" in 2010). Intikana has been recording in studios since he was 14 years old. His experience in both low budget and high end studios has enriched his understanding of soundscapes, vibrations, & frequencies. Please send song submissions in the genres of Hip-Hop / Rap, Poetry / Spoken Word / Acapella, Theater / Monologues / Dialogues, Film Soundtracks, Commercials, Radio Shows, Live Events, Playlists, and Audio Based Projects that are non-music related (Ex: Speeches, Conversations, Interviews, etc). For mixing songs that are of other genres of music, there is a chance Intikana can still mix them. However, it will really depend on the specific technical needs of the song. If for any reason, Intikana is not able to mix the record...he will recommend someone who can. Vocals will be mixed using primarily EQ, Compression, and Reverb. Instruments will be mixed based on desired goals. (Ex: Cutting High Ends or Low Ends, Managing Compression, EQ, Panning, Raising / Lowering Levels, etc.) For Singers, having his or her natural voice shine through the record is ideal. Intikana will not be able to change vocal chord progressions or key notes in the singer's voice. It would be best to have the singer hit all vocal notes in the recording as there will not be extreme or dramatic voice alteration (outside of minor modulation or pitch shift) to improve singer's singing voice in the mixing. Make sure to upload and send full Pro Tools session (including all audio files) to intikana@gmail.com via google drive. [Please do your best to label files.] If you want to have your song recorded or re-recorded by Intikana, definitely make sure to purchase "Audio Recording" service in addition to this "Audio Mixing" service. In terms of calculating the time it takes to mix a record, it really depends on song length, number of tracks, detailed nature of tasks, etc. The Project Manager is welcome to be present during the mixing process but it is not necessary. The final mix can be sent through email. (.wav, .aiff, and .mp3 format)
